On October 26, the VI International Scientific and Practical Conference "Scientific School of Roman Ivanchenko" took place. This year's conference brought together scientists from various leading universities in Ukraine, Belarus and Poland.

This year the guests of the conference were Valentyna Bychkovska - Director of the Museum of Books and Printing of Ukraine, an expert in the attribution of old prints, author of books on the study of book history. She made an extremely interesting presentation of the facsimile edition of the rare old print "Historiae biblicae Veteris et Novi Testamenti" ("History of the Bible of the Old and New Testaments"). The second guest at the event was Olga Popovych, the founder of the Kalamar publishing house. Ms. Olga made a report on the history and current trends of the book market in Ukraine.

Scholars communicated in the sections "History and current problems of publishing and editing", "Features of mass modern communication", "Advertising and PR-communication in printing, publishing and book distribution", as well as a special section "Johann Gutenberg: inventor and printer: to the 550th anniversary of memory ".

The Department of Publishing and Editing of VPI NTUU "KPI named after Igor Sikorsky" and the organizing committee of the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Roman Ivanchenko Scientific School" thanks all participants and guests of the conference, active students who helped organize the event, and looks forward to a new scientific meeting October 25, 2019.

Student feedback

This year's scientific-practical conference was really impressive. Olga Popovych, the founder of the leading publishing house of Ukraine "Kalamar", and Valentyna Bochkovska, the director of the Museum of Books and Printing in Ukraine, spoke for the students of the Publishing and Printing Institute.

Olga Mykolayivna told about the history of the publishing house's foundation, and Valentyna Hryhorivna - about the creation of the book "History of the Bible of the Old and New Testaments". It was interesting to hear about the challenges that publishers face on their way, because this information is difficult to obtain freely. It was amazing how much work was invested in the "History of the Bible", because it is the efforts of Mrs. Valentina, who slightly expanded the original text of the book, and the creative artist Olenka Polishchuk.

This conference helped make sure that I made the right choice by choosing the Department of Publishing and Editing.
